The Braves came out swinging Thursday night and never stopped. Atlanta erupted for 17 runs against Arizona in one of the most lopsided games of the young season, putting up crooked numbers in multiple innings and leaving no doubt who was in control from the first pitch.
Matt Olson led the charge with a monstrous 5-for-3 night featuring a home run and 3 RBI. Mauricio Dubon added a home run of his own, and Jorge Mateo drove in two. Starter Reynaldo Lopez earned the win, cruising through five innings while giving Arizona's lineup almost nothing to work with. Osvaldo Bido locked it down with three scoreless innings in relief.
Atlanta's offense now ranks among the most dangerous in baseball after this early stretch. The Braves are 5-2, tied for the NL East lead with Miami, and showing exactly the kind of ceiling this roster has always been capable of reaching.
